New Florida Poll: Majority of Voters Believe Climate Issues Are Important

6/21/19

New polling released today by the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) shows that the majority of Florida voters believe environmental and climate issues are important, and even more support a move to a completely clean energy economy by 2050. The numbers are even higher among Florida Latinos and African Americans – 77 percent of Latinos and 74 percent of African Americans support moving to a completely clean energy economy by 2050.

A memo summarizing the Public Policy Polling survey results can be found here and embedded below.

“The first Democratic debate in Miami must address the majority of Florida voters’ belief that environmental and climate issues are important and that we should move to a completely clean energy economy by 2050,” said Pete Maysmith, LCV Senior Vice President of Campaigns. “Every single presidential candidate owes the people of Florida a plan for how they’ll confront climate change beginning on day one of their presidency and continuing throughout. Florida voters deserve candidates, debates and media coverage that take the climate crisis incredibly seriously.”
