LCV Statement on Cory Booker's Climate and Environmental Justice Plan

9/3/19

Following the release of Senator Cory Booker’s Climate and Environmental Justice Plan, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) issued the following statement from SVP of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld:

“We applaud Senator Cory Booker for his Climate and Environmental Justice Plan, which builds on his strong leadership in the U.S. Senate and as a presidential candidate. We are encouraged that, among other things, his strong vision calls for achieving a carbon-neutral economy no later than 2045, the creation of a $50 billion per year U.S. Environmental Justice Fund to invest in frontline communities, investing $3 trillion by 2030 in renewable energy, energy storage and electric vehicles, and immediately ending all fossil fuel subsidies and barring new leases on public lands. Every serious candidate for president should be demonstrating to voters a comprehensive plan to address the climate crisis starting on day one of their presidency and every day after.”
