Reviving rural America requires big, structural change

I’m committing to a 15-fold funding increase for the Conservation Stewardship Program, which pays farmers for adopting sustainable practices.

These and other investments contained in my plan will rebalance and revitalize the ag economy — encouraging diversified, environmentally sustainable and above all profitable family farms that feed vibrant local and regional markets. I believe farmers can lead the charge against climate change while revitalizing rural communities.
