Democratic presidential candidate Kirsten Gillibrand’s newest plan aims to boost rural areas by providing flexible funding for communities to use as they see fit.

Gillibrand, a U.S. Senator from New York, is releasing her plan, called “Rebuilding Rural America to Build Our Future,” at the beginning of a campaign swing through rural Iowa that starts in Sioux City on Wednesday.

Gillibrand’s plan would give farmers support from the USDA to develop new practices to put carbon back into the ground while working to limit nutrient loss. It would also offer new insurance protections and energy infrastructure for farms.
