Know the enemy. Not every story has villains, but this one does. Superpacs, the Koch brothers, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and others have built a climate denial apparatus that effectively keeps Congress from taking action. They should be vanquished. 3/5

Meet the scale of the problem. It doesn’t matter if you say the words “green new deal” during debates, or if you support this or that specific plan to put a price on carbon, or if you want to spend $2.5 trillion or $3 trillion. The question: Is your plan big enough to fix this?

Put people first. Climate action cannot be about birds and the butterflies. It cannot be the cause of conservationists and coastal elites. It is about saving unions, farms, fisheries, and factories. The best candidate on climate will have solutions that directly benefit people.
